I have a 1940 DS30 I use ocassionally (was the main truck till 2 years ago). I thought I'd "improve it" and put an in-line filter between the tank and pump. Bad idea. What rust I had in the tank prior was easy to get out of the sediment bowl and I never really had problems operating the truck. Now with the inline filter it just traps it all and plugs. Have to take it off and blow it out about every 1/2 hour of operation. When I get to using it again (needs a wheel cylinder right now) I plan to just replace the inline filter with a piece of gas line hose.
