For whatever reason (ok, it was procrastination!) a hydraulic leak that stopped the fast hitch lift from working 6 years ago and turned my Farmall 350D into a barn queen didn"t get completely fixed until today (last step being the replacement of the O-rings where the fast-hitch retaining valve mates with the hard-line block on the battery case).
I hitched the #100 mower, sharpened up the knives with a Dremmel, and off to the fields I went.
My other tractors just roar loudly (need ear muffs-I have the ones with a radio) and their tune doesn"t change much going up or down my hilly fields and for the most part I can"t hear the mowers I"m dragging around.
The 350 on the other hand is quiet enough I don"t wear the muffs, it snorts going up hills and glides down hills, meanwhile the 100 mower makes its characteristic clickity clack as it easily fells 4" high grass.
Next time my 350 has a problem, I won"t wait so long to get it fixed!
