Well I removed the oil pan to see why the oil pressure was low when the engine warmed up. Sure enough the gasket on the oil pump is blown out. Looks like it has been gone for a while. I put the pump cover on a straight edge and it looks to be warped. It's hard to tell because my eyes are getting bad. One possible problem. When I pulled the pan there was a small amount of metal specks at the bottom of the pan. I tore apart the oil filter and found about 5 or 6 specks. The engine was run for about an hour. Is that normal after a rebuild? Has anyone seen this before? Dale
