I worked at the FARMALL plant in the late 70's & early 80's. There was an old gentleman named Herschel Smith that worked in the office who's first job back in about 1935 was torquing the head bolts on F-20's. He had an old 3-ring binder that had the first serial # of every model of tractor built every month at that plant since the first tractor rolled off the line in 1926. If you took your ser. # in He would calculate the build date of that tractor. My Super H # 22357 He figures was made Jan. 11th., 1954, and Dad's '51 M (don't have the ser. # Here) was built Dec. 7th., 1951. Herschel retired about 1982 or so after almost 47 yr. of service. I wonder what ever happened to his notebook.....

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
