$5000is cheap!!!1026s are somewhat rare,only 2900 'copys' made. popular with collectors.I sold mine for 7500.Should have kept it.Contrary to 'popular' belief,Yes you can use the hydros for till age,all day long.True they are not as effiecient as a gear drive,and tend to use more fuel.You just have to know how to run them.You just cant 'push' them like a gear drive.I grew up around hydros.There were several around the neighborhood,they worked(plowed,disked...) all day long right beside the gear drives.Hydros are outstanding for PTO work(beats the heck out of a JD powershift).As far as expecive to 'fix',try to repair a JohnDeere powershift.I've owned 3 hydro tractors(826,1026,H100).Still own the 826.Steve
