Guess fifth worked before the trouble? Does the shift lever move to fifth or won't move to fifth? If it shifts to forth and 5th worked before, remove the belt pulley gear box or the opening cover to see if the fork and gear is moving, or if the teeth that lock fifth and the input shaft are the problem. If a fork problem the top cover needs removed. If a input shaft is needed the center section needs removed. If 4th and 5th slider and the input shaft is bad top cover and center needs removed. T/A clutch is supposed to release when the clutch pedal is depressed, same as what you do when pulling the t/a handle back. Need to adjust linkages.
