Sorry folks, I goofed. It is a 1966 Cub Lo Boy--the latest model with 12V battery ignition. I took the engine apart because it had hardly any compression and a serious carbon sludge problem--worst I've ever seen. Seems like the oil was never changed. I believe that I need to take the governor apart to clean it because, off the tractor, when you turn the drive gear, there is significant resistance. I fear that those little ball bearings in there are really sludged up. The service manual talks about how to clean the bearings, etc. But how do I get the dang thing apart? Thanks for your responses.
