I have a 1977 140 that had a bad switch when I got it. The switch was causing the battery to drain. Got a new switch. Found the new switch different than original and flashers would not turn off. I ended up installing a toggle switch in the flasher circuit so I could turn them off. I don't remember the exact details, but I think you could turn every thing off, but when any lights were on, the flashers were on.
