I have a 1953 Super C which I restored and used vinyl cut decals from Maple Hunter which is different then the one shown in the photo link. I think mine looks like what you are thinking are correct as the decal is all white and where the letters would be the decal is open and the red paint behind the decal bears the red color. If you send me your email address I will send you some photos in an email as I can't post photos on this forum like everyone else seems to do. My photos are stored on my PC but for the life of me (I've tried every method described by numerous folks) it just doesn't work for me - I must be missing something in the required software or I don't hold my mouth quite right is all I can guess, Hal.
