Not disagreeing with you Pete, but why does the same exact bearing the book called for at my IH dealer some years ago, have the exact same number, by the exact same manufacturer, that I got at my local parts store, cost almost 3 times less as the one at the IH dealer? I had the original with the IH number on it, crossed to the newest number, at the time. I couldnt visually see any difference in the original compared to the replacement. (this was on an M BTW, bigger and newer tractors may be different.) Same goes for seals. Heck, Ive even had someone tell me once the manifold studs were better at the dealer, because they came from the dealer, and would be right, whereas some from a local parts store wouldnt work, but both had the same supplier, Dorman I think.
