I'll echo most of the comments of those before me, and stress that "Clamp-On" duals were NOT recommended for the wheels on H's & M's. The cast centers would crack through the centers. Duals were actually for flotation on soft plowed ground. Traction was also increased and they do ride better. If the tractor feels like it's getting close to rolling over, GET OFF THE HILL. IH only ever sold direct axle mount duals, even after they came out with the wedge-lock wheel, which was strong enough for clamp-on duals. Dad & I had clamp-on's on our M and Super H but only for planting corn. The heavy work with the M-TA and 450 was done with axle mounts. Unless you need flotation on soft dry ground, just set your wheels wider. Duals DO NOT get you over soft WET ground. I've been stuck Way too many times during wet springs, duals just get you too far into trouble!
