Before you do anything else:
Disconnect the fuel line at the carb and open the fuel shutoff. You NEED that fuel line to run a solid stream of fuel.
That's the first place to check for fuel flow. Sometimes there's rust or crud in the tank that settles over the tank drain and blocks the line from getting any fuel.
