The Opreators manuals all say CLUTCH DISENGAGED "BUT". I disengage clutch on my Super M and Super Hs but have found that my Cub, Super A and Super C all started easier in neutral with the clutch engaged. Throttle about 1/3 to 1/2 when cold. All except my Super M are original 6v positive ground. I think the smaller Farmalls start easier with the clutch engaged because of the throwout bearing. It's design creates quite a bit of drag. Noticable on Cub at idle in neutral. Engine lugs a tiny bit when clutch pressed.
