Sounds like your tractor is ok, but I would still put a flow rater on it just incase. A log splitter can take more power than a disk depending on cylinder size. This is because you don't have the working leverage on a log splitter that you have on disk. Sometimes the unloding valve may hang up on the tractor. It won't effect the three point and isn't noticed until the remotes are put on serious demand. More than likely your problem lies in surface area vs. preasure in relation to the cylinder. I'd try a bigger cylinder or another cylinder. The increased surface area of the cylinder will make it work slower, but it will increase your force. Also make sure that the cylinder rod is on the splitting end and not the stationary end. Two way hydraulic cylinders have less force on the rod end because the rod takes up surface area in the cylinder. An axilery pump wouldn't work any. The pump will just feed back through your quick couplers and blow the relief valve. It's also a bad idea to turn up the relif valve because you'll just wreck something.

A sidesheet is sheetmetal to cover either the engine as in the case of early Oliver's, Massey-Harris' and many crawlers or the wiring and electrical components as in the case of the Massey-Harris Pony, Allis Chalmers' D Series (D-14, D-15, D-12, D-10, D-17, and D-19). The need for fabricating becomes obvious when you go to buy any of these
