had the same problem with mine,the carb would ice up from the cold air going through it ,I put a heathouser on to help keep me warm and to hold heat in buy the engine i put aberlap sack ovet the rad. to slow down the cold air alittel and i also found that my heat riser was not working right after all that it was not to bad after it warmed up to operating temp.
