Hi Dick, Sounds like the flow to the pump is restricted letting the oil fill the reservoir, another words the pump is putting out more oil than it's taking in. To confirm let the tractor sit off for awhile then remove the fill plug, start the tractor and watch the oil rise in the reservoir. It could be just a bunch of slim sitting at the suction inlet or the screen is plugged although the parts CD doesn't call for a filter or a suction screen on a 300U. T_Bone
