Dan. The Lift All valve must be out all the way and locked to use the remote valve. There should be a tab or tang on the bottom of the Lift All Control Rod. You should also have a latch which swings up against this tab and holds the rod all the way out. Then your Remote Control Rod will supply oil in either direction by simply pulling or pushing. You might find an Operator's Manual very handy.
