I recently acquired a road gear for my F-20... not sure who manufactured it. I've heard either Behlen or Sears. Anyway, I want to get the big gear off of the input yoke/shaft so I can get it all cleaned up and replace the front seal. I've got the snap ring off the shaft (indicated by the white arrow in the pic below)... it sure appears to me that the gear is threaded onto the shaft, but all methods I've used so far to unscrew the gear have been unsuccessful. Is there a trick to getting the gear off? Heat, maybe? I've been really careful about hammering on anything because the last thing I want to do is knock a tooth off the gear.
