The 14255 is slightly larger but I decided to use it since it came with the connector but the 14231 doesn't (OReillys).

Remember too the current specs for alternators are typically at 3000 rpms, which it can't supply on a tractor running at half that engine speed. At 1800 rpms, the output of an alternator is about 60%, so the Hitacha's could supply 21 and 30 amps. And that could only be into a totally discharged battery or a fault.
The other advantage of the Hitachi is it comes with a split belt pulley which can be adjusted to fit a 3/8 belt, the 10si comes with pulley for a 5/16 belt.
