Well, I never tried to see how long it would run on a tank of gas. I know it seems to use a lot. I don't think it would run more than 15 or 20 minutes tops on gas before it ran out. It smokes black when you first start it, but then clears up within a few seconds. I usually run it 2 or 3 minutes on gas before I switch it over, less if the weather is warm.
