I've had mine apart a couple of times. My most vexing problem was getting what I call the steering arm (the arm that connects with the tie-rod ball joints)off. I don't have a torch big enough to heat it up to the point where it "pops" off. I made a contraption to pull it off and I couldn't have done it with the steering box on the tractor. If you need to remove the steering box, the radiator needs to come off. Jack the tractor up on the jack-pad on the bottom of the transmission bell housing. There are four large bolts holding the steering box on to the front of the engine. My tractor has the heavy duty cast iron axel and when the last bolt came out, had I not disassembled as much of the front assembly as possible, I would have had 335 lb of cast iron loose. The steering box itself weighs 105 lb. If you don't have a chain-hoist or some way to support things, disassemble everything attached to the steering box and make a sawhorse to catch the steering box when you pull the bolts. The bushng for the steering wheel shaft is hard to get to but both it and the seal can be easily driven out from the front with a piece of 3/4 inch water pipe used as a big punch. The pipe is a perfect fit. All the internal parts are available from Case except for the steering wheel shaft and its worm gear. After market parts are available too. I've had both side by side. The Case parts are better and they fit. The economy of after market parts is lost if you need to buy tooling to fit the busings or need to send them out to be fitted.
