Hi if you are stuck in between 2 gears the wheels may turn but one will go forward and the other will probably try going backwards through the diff.
Basically it will either skid or take the teeth of the 2 locked gears ,if your not careful. Had a guy got a tandem freight liner, loaded with 800 or so bushels of flax seed stuck between 2, couldn't tow it or move it. Had to get a big 4wd caseIH and gently ease it back up the slope a few inches, to get the load off the gears ,to move the shifter back to neutral. His selectors are pretty worn causing it to lock the 2 gears. Regards Robert
