TIP tools has both plans and kits for building blasting cabinets. I have heard good things about TIP. The main advantage to building is that it is relatively cheaper and you don't have to pay freight. In my area, there are a couple of specialty shops where I can get similar equipment. The old saying you get what you pay for seems to apply especially well to tools, going high end will probably save your sanity and probably money in the long run. I am building a cabinet that is essentially complete...it isn't nearly as nice as the commercial units, but it should retain most of the blasting media. As far as safety goes, the main advantage is that you can and should use non-silica abrasive which is more expensive than sand and you can re-use it economically. I think this is the best way to go, but I'll let you know if it gets to the point where I am pullling my hair out...BB
