Bought an old instrument cluster at yard sale, it might be from some locomotive. Has a "Bendix-Westinghouse Air Brake" 1-150# air pressure gage, a "Twin-Disc TorqueConverter" 100F-250F temp gage, and places for a throttle indicator, a water temperature indicator, lights, etc. But is also has a Westberg tachometer labeled "RPM-hundreds", 0-3500 rpm. Has three wires on back, as near as I can see the old masking tape labels read "Ground" and "Coil". Unknown third wire. Any advice, pro or con, where I could hook it up to a 12 volt H, see if it works?? Do NOT want to damage anything, or smoke anything.
