Thanks. That worked. Of course, then I had to get the plugs, springs, and pins the popped out back in: I should have placed some sort of restraining band first. I did find all the parts. They're held in by a rubber band for now.

Everything I can see looks fine and the thing seems to work fine when operated by hand. The only thing I've found wrong is that the clutch disk is worn to where the clearence is about .055". The two little springs on the throwout bearing assembly were broken but I don't see that that would have made much difference (I'll replace them, of course). All the seals were leaking, so that at least makes the split worthwhile: the TA clutch would have soon filled up with oil.
