I am in the process of tear down and re-build on my H. I have replaced the seal gear inside the distributor gear housing and now I am putting back together. I noticed there was some end play in the gear or shaft within the housing. I have put a couple shims between the gear and the housing. It tighten the end play up but when I tightened the nut on top it would not allow the gear and shaft to turn.
I am now questioning if that minimum end play is OK.
Anyone help please?
Also, while apart I sandblasted, cleaned, washed, etc. I only greased the shaft. That is sufficient isn't it?
