I have a IH 354 utility tractor with the gas engine, BC144. I need to pull the sleeves and at a minimum replace the "O" ring seal. Finding an "O" ring for the sleeve is turning into an adventure. I would consider buying the sleeve kit, sleeve, piston, rings, wrist pin, retainer, and hopefully the "O" rings if I could find a kit for the BC144 engine. There are kits available for the BD144 engine. Interestingly my I&T shop service manual list the bore and stroke for the the BC114 and the BD144 as being the same. The rod and main bearings as is the piston pin sizes are also listed as being the same sizes for the the BC144 and BD144. My question is would a sleeve kit for the BD144 also work in the BC144 block? I am thinking the piston is going to be different (5 rings for the diesel, 3 rings for the gas) but should work. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
