The offset may cause a problem because of interference between the PTO shaft and the implement structural parts. The offset will not be a problem to the shaft inself. The universal joints can handle that. Before you buy an implement, make sure that the structure of the implement is not going to get in the way of the PTO shaft due to the offset connection to the tractor.
