I was at a tractor show in Brooks, Or. this weekend and there was a Super A with a 1000 loader attached.
Your descriptions of your plumbing appear to match this one.
It appears the pump supplies the loader valve first and then power beyonds to the touch control. The loader valve was a Gresen two spool with a main relief. I think beings the loader lifts without a load that your problem is with the relief in the loader valve and not the touch control system.
The loader relief should be set higher than the touch control which is 1100-1500 psi. I don't know what the proper setting is for the loader however. Check your other machine maybe.
If you install a gauge inline between the manifold and the loader valve you will read the pressure setting if you bottom your lift cylinder up or the dump cylinder.
