Here is one more thing to check. Were your steering shaft comes down from the steering wheel to the first universal joint, check to see that the horizontal shaft lies on the up side of the bracket and not the bottom side. I had some work done to my 230, when they bolted everything back together, the repair shop put this bracket on upside down. As soon as I got on the tractor I knew something was wrong. Like driving my old Ford F-5, no power steering. I turned that bracket over and can steer like before, with no effort.
