I custom baled for over twenty years and you radiator may be plugged up. My 1486 would run close to the red at times when the radiator would suck a lot of hay dust in the fins. Clean it out and would be back to normal. I had another one that did that also and it turned out to be clogged up on the inside. Took it to the radiator shop , got it cleaned out and it ran normal again also. The gauges on our 86 series all work and when running normal the gauge never gets half way even under a heavy load in the summer heat. I also changed the fan blades on all mine from 6 blade fan to heavy duty 8 blade fans. Makes a difference.
