A Super H is plenty enough to run a square baler, so 35 hp is OK assuming you are referring to a small square baler. When baling in third gear, on an H or M, if the baler starts to pull the engine down because the hay gets heavier, you can push the gearshift lever straight forward out of third and right into second without using the clutch. Just take it easy, don't force it out of gear, just push it. It will move when the baler is on the return stroke. Then let the gears mesh themselves and it will go right into second, it works like a charm and keeps the power to the baler. This is for people who bale without live a PTO. I baled 11,000 square bales this summer with an M, no live PTO.
