If you don't really care about the originallity of the tractor, either one will work. Some people sell both the H and M WFEs under the impression that they will fit both, and they will not. You can make a H Wfe fit the M and a M wfe fit the H, but you have to use a set back plate on the tractor. So, if you are going to mount the WFE directly under the front bolster, make sure the mounting bracket bolt holes are spaced correctly. as far as originality, the early H wfe had a cast iron center tube, and clevis type tie rod ends. The later WFE had a stamped tube with either clevis type or automotive type tie rod ends. I have a H with a WFE, and it makes the tractor look nice, especially with steel wheels...
