I'd go for carb adjustment, too. First time I ground feed with my M it surged badly. While it was grinding I adjusted it - smooth as silk now. The letter tractors like it a little rich, but I think that still sounds like it is lean. You know how they get right when they run out of gas or you haven't turned on the tap?
