S.D.L., We had 605 IH engines on a couple of Irrigation wells. Tough old engines. But a pain to start. The Starters were good, But the Ignition system just had that quirk!! It always took 3 pickups on 12 volts to start. Just a pain all the time, but they were tough running. Turning an Amarillo Gear head @ 4:5 ratio on 300ft wells pumping right at 1000 gal/minuet. Any way the 605 is in that hunt too, though the 605 is an Industrial engine to my knowledge. Later, John A.
