Am I reading this correct. You cannot get the tractor in gear. That means the clutch is not releasing, just the opposite of engaging. If you have approx 1 1/4 inch of free movement of clutch pedal from platform to the point where throwout bearing makes contact with clutch fingers, and you cannot get it in gear,(grinds gears with engine running) the you have a problem right at the clutch and not the external linkages. Disk in backwards, throwout bearing cocked on sleeve, fingers (maybe only one out of wack) damaged pressure plate when putting together or a host of other causes. Hard to tell from here.
