On my 1947 Farmall A the plate under the seat is missing but the number on the engine is FAA M216289 K. I don't think the chassis number on this tractor be the same as the engine number? If this number is entered on the net it comes up as an A made in 1947 at Louisville. The casting numbers conform 1947 as the year. Is it possible to find out what chassis # would go with engine #FAA M216289 K. I have bought a new plate but it says made in Chicago not Louisville, and the supplier did not have these. Did the Louisville tractors have different decals. Most of the restored tractors I have seen have silver wheels, mine do not appear to have been zinc plated just painted red - is this correct?
