Remove as many of the clutch cover bols as you can.I think one or 2 will not come all the way out, but get them as far as they will go. Then pry up gently on the side where the starter is, right up under the starter and at the same time lift up on the rear of the starter and pull out at the same time. You dont have to remove the belt pulley this way.
