I would first remove the cowling over the instruments and check the shift linkages.Thhen I would pull the range cover(under the platform).If you havr e reverse and steering and the pto works,the clutch is ok.There is a 'plate'down by the clutch pedal to removeto see the reverse shihter fork.I would do these things before a split....My feeling is something in the range shifter is your problem.
