Hello, wondering if you guys can give me some ideas on where to go next. I have an IH 574 gas, I bought it about 12 years. Right after I bought it, the radiator blew. Radiators for gas 574"s were no longer available, so they put in a radiator for a diesel 574. This required jerry rigging the bottom radiator hose, and installing a hose barb coupler for the bottom hose, which worked fine for over a decade. last summer it started to leak, so we pulled it apart and the plastic had got so hot it deformed. We rebuilt the hose and replaced the fitting with brass, turned the engine on, and coolant poured out the weep hole on the radiator cap. So we replaced the thermostat, but got same result. Figured it might be water pump, but I just took that apart and it turns on fan pulley, and it wasn"t leaking. Is there some other way that pump could fail? Are we barking up the wrong tree? Any other ideas on what could be going on? Do we need to get IH gaskets to put the pump back together or can we scrape off teh cardboard and just use gasket maker?
