its a diesel tractor so it gets shut down on diesel. diesel at idle runs and cools way better than on gas at idle. gas is for starting the deisel engine. absolute no benefit to switch to gas. actually when those little valves open back up on gas i believe they would get a little hotter than just leaving them seated in the head on diesel. then you have to remember to close them after you shut it down on gas. and that gets forgot about at times. then those little valves will warp. then you have no more diesel engine , as head has to come off.
