Stan-I read your post and wanted to comment. First, all you need are fuel and spark to make this one run. You said you had good spark, so its time to get the right amount of fuel. Here's what I would do:
1. Pull plugs.
2. Shut off fuel.
3. Shut off switch.
4. Crank for awhile without plugs to clear excess fuel.
5. Let set overnite (patience). Charge battery.
6. Reinstall plugs.
7. Open fuel.
8. Open choke. Throttle part way open. Don't prime.
9. Should run. If not close choke slightly, or go back to carb and rebuild.
I hope I didn't get to carried away, the point is you only need fuel and spark, but you need the right amount and at the time.
