All thread works just fine. And yes, I do farm with it just like that. Two pices of all thread (converted to long bolts) and two guide rods. They will loosen up now and then if you just hand tighten them.
BUT, if you are not going to tractor pull do it the right way with bolts. Why do you need to weight to slide right on the all thread when you put them on the one and only time? Also, you won't get them as tight and straght with all thread only tightening all four at a time.
