H Engine swap

My SIL was given an old H which someone several years ago started to rebuild. They left the engine open abd everything, including the crank, is rustes quite badly. He has found another engine to rebuild, and I was wondering if it will affect the value after rebuild to switch the engines, being that the serial #'s are probably a long way apart. The old tractor is not in very good shape, but for fre I guess he can't complain.
