wiring diagrams for ih460

Since my elec. harness got smoked due to a short probably. I found a wiring harness diagram on the web site Jim recommended (Carter & Gruenwald) it shows a generator and voltage reg. in the wiring diagram, but on the tractor it has an alternator and no voltage reg., I guess the previous owner changed it. I assume ( I'm not an elec. tech., do have some basic knowledge) that the alternator has built in regulator and that replaces the VR, is that correct? The alt. has three wires running to it and one yellow wire just hanging loose by the alt., the diagram shows it went to the f terminal on the generator to the f terminal on the VR. THANKS LARRY
