My 48 Super A had the same problem. It was the gasket on the oil pump. The cover that holds the gears in the pump was warped. I sanded mine till it was smooth and reinstalled with a new gasket. I now have great pressure, hot or cold. It only takes about 15 minutes to get the oil pump out. Don't forget to pack the pump with vaseline or grease when you reinstall it so it will prime itself quickly.
