ALL the diesel engines I have and have messed with spun the same direction as the gas one did other then the Detroit that if you did not watch what was going on would start forward or back wards but that was no was was meant to happen. I know all the Cat and Cummins diesels and the Ih etc ALL spin the same as the gas engines I have been around. Ya also depending on how you look at it the old JD engines didn't because the crank was side ways and the rotation was still the same
