Farmall Charging

Having problems getting my 200 to maintain a charge in the battery. Generator rebuilt about a year ago and voltage regulator replaced. All worked well a few months, then found I had to tap the regulator to get it to charge. Tapping doesn't work anymore! Strange thing is that when I turn the lights on, the ammeter needle goes right to neutral...unregulated I guess. Anyone out there who can tell me if and in some detail how I should adjust the voltage regulator. ....Thanks
