You don't have to bleed anything, just work it back and forth. You may have damaged the o-ring on the filter housing and you then will suck air. Easy to tell on the hitch. Just raise it up and down a few times, leave it about half way up and then jump on it. It should be solid, if bouncy at all it has air. Since it is a single action cyl on hitch, if it does have air you will need to raise it and completely lower it a few times , AFTER, you are sure you are no longer sucking air. If o-ring is not problem, you may want to overfill the transmission about 5 gals to cover a couple of points inside where air can be drawn in . What kind of junk was in filter. Metal or just sludge. Moisture in oil in cold weather will clog filter immediately.
