Yup. The distance from any point on the 1st bottom to the same point on the 2nd bottom should be exactly the same.
If the bottoms are not "parallel" then the plow is bent, aka sprung.
About the only thing it's good for is to harvest the bottom units off of, unless they themselves are sprung. Hopefully it has newer Super Chief bottoms on it that you could transplant to an old #8 Little Genius or some other plow with old bottoms on which parts are NLA.
